7 Grandfather Teachings

As I was researching the Code of the Samurai, I found that other cultures in different parts of the world have similar moral codes. These codes are meant to connect the individuals to the communities for a better, richer life. The First Nations in North America have such a code in the Seven Grandfather Teachings. Children are taught the values of Love, Respect, Bravery, Truth, Honesty, Humility, and Wisdom. Each Teaching represents one of the core values that connect us all as one people and each one has its own animal totem.

I have used traditional natural materials for the tools and accessories where I could. The animal totems are portrayed using original symbolism based on traditional designs and burned into the wood bases.
